Sophie's dance recital

Hi all,

Just downloaded pix of Sophie's last dance recital of the year on May 2.
It was also the last event for their instructor; Tammy -- so the girls had many tears after the show.
And, of course, I had to throw in a pic of Ryan....who by the way, had his Golden Birthday yesteray!!

Love to all,
Auntie Deb

Amelia turns 1 today!

Happy birthday to Amelia! We can't believe you are one year old already!

Here is a photo from our celebration today. The official party is on May 18, but we couldn't let the day go without a few presents, a birthday crown, and a balloon!

Start! Heart Walk- Mission Accomplished!

Happy May! I wanted to give everyone an update on the Heart Walk. Mom, Lindsay and I completed the walk last Saturday the 26th. The weather was an interesting combination of sleet, snow and rain, but we were undaunted! I think the temperature was around 30 degrees. It definitely felt more like December! But, being the tough Minnesotans we are, we dug out the winter coats, hats and gloves and headed for Harriet Island. We're all a little glad that the picture isn't close as this was after we completed the walk and we looked a little tough!

The City estimates that 20,000 people attended the walk which is an awesome turn out! I want to thank everyone again for all their support. I greatly appreciate it! Nicole

Birthday Party!

Okay, so I figured since Sophie's birthday is on here, I might as well throw mine on here too! I turned the big 26 on the 26th of April. I know, I am getting old. I can tell I am getting old because I neither need or want anything. Well, besides a new front door, carpet, refinished hardwood floors, a nice landscaped backyard with a fire pit....but those are all things an "old" person would want...I guess I've hit that category ;)

Dad, Mom, Nicole, Matthew, Kari, Aria, Dylan, Jason and I went to Wiederholt's to celebrate my birthday on the 25th and also to celebrate Matthew and Kari's engagement. Plus, it was the first time we met Aria and Dylan. They always have great fish Friday's so the food was excellent and they brought out a mini cake and sang Happy Birthday to me (I wish I would have taken a picture before we ate it all).

Matthew, Kari & Aria at Wiederholts:

Mom & Matthew at Wiederholts:

On the 26th Jason took me out to Heartland Restaurant in Saint Paul. It is a very contemporary restaurant. The menu actually changes daily! The chef/owner buys from local farmers. The reason the menu changes daily is because the menu is based off what was delivered to his restaurant that afternoon. There was an interview and the chef/owner said at noon on any given day a farmer can come to his restaurant and pull out a rabbit or a wild boar and then he comes up with a menu for that evening based on the wild boar or the rabbit etc. It was definitely a little different. I wish I would have taken the menu so I could tell you exactly what we had. Unfortunately the rabbit was all out by the time we got there :( lol We both had the Fauna tasting menu. It was a little bizzare, maybe a little too contemporary for us, but it was nice to try something new.

I did not get any pictures of me at Wiederholts, kind of hard to get pictures when I am always the one taking them. I also didn't bring my camera to Heartland, but you can check it out here: http://www.heartlandrestaurant.com/ if any of you are brave enough :)

Dad & Nicole at Wiederholts:

Engaged!

I guess I will be the one to "break" the news. Matthew asked his girlfried, Kari, to marry him on Sunday, April 20th, and she said yes. I believe most/some of you met her at Justin & Mandy's wedding. He proposed at Como Park in Saint Paul. They are planning to get married possibly next year at the Como Zoo Conservatory. Otherwise, that is all that I know about the wedding.

Here is the picture of Matthew and Kari that I snapped at my birthday party at Wiederholt's on the 25th.

This picture is of two of her kids. Dylan is in the 1st grade and Aria is in the 3rd grade. Her oldest son, Alex, is a senior in high school and will be graduating this year.

Sophie's Birthday Prep.

Hi!

Last week Friday (18th) was Sophie's birthday. Can you believe she's 7 years old already?

For her 6th birthday I baked a cake and she helped to decorate it....so this year, I baked the caked, frosted it and had her decorate it by herself. Here are some pictures...please ignore the naked doll...I did whip up a little "top" for her so we didn't freak out Sophie's friends with a naked Barbie on the cake.

MS Walk..from Stephanie

Dear Friends and Family,

The National MS Society is kicking off Walk MS: Christopher & Banks Twin Cities Walk 2008 presented by Anchor Bank.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a collective of passionate individuals, moving together to create a world free of multiple sclerosis. I believe in the work they do, and I invite you to see for yourself all the good they've done for the MS community for the more than 400,000 Americans that live with MS.

Please help by making a donation - large or small -- to move closer to a cure for MS. Or, why not join me on the day of the event? Become a participant and side by side, as teammates, we will move together to raise the funds that make a difference.

Whatever you can give will help. I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.

Sincerely,
