Sweet girls

We had photos taken of the girls last weekend. Here is one of the photos. They are growing so fast!

Hope you all are having a great summer!

Been awhile

I realized that it has been a couple of months since I have blogged, so I thought Bob and Martha would appreciate some pictures of the grandkids again. We have been a busy family out here with all our day to day activities. I'll fill you in.
Chesney is in term 2 of year 1 and really enjoying school. Her reading has been progressing very well and she loves that she can pick up most of her Dr. Suess books and read mostly unassisted. She is having a bit of trouble with doing Maths and has a hard time understanding the tens and ones places but with a little help from some bundled up straws we are coming along with it. She has two friends that she plays with almost exclusively at school- Cooper and Joshua- they like to make up things to act out . Chesney really loves Cooper ( they are talking marriage someday) I asked Chesney if she ever played with any of the other girls and she said they play to girly of things and it didn't interest her. fair enough. Chesney has really been into her writing and has written another couple of stories. Swimming is going well- Chesney moved up a level to Dolphins so now she is learning proper technique with her strokes and breathing. she loves to swim and enjoys going to her class. Chesney and Logan have started tennis lessons and even though it is quite painful to watch them, they are both really loving the classes. It has been really good for Logan because he would always quit something if he didn't get it right immediately but he now just laughs in class and has fun. Michelle told me that she better not see Logan in white shorts with a sweater tied over his shoulders so I won't post that picture.

We have geckos out her- and lots of them. we can go out to our garage in the evening and usually find one on the wall. and if you piss it off it will hiss at you- but harmless. The kids think they are pretty cool. this one is about 5 inches long

We met Dwayne after work one night and tried to get some sunset pics behind the opera house and harbour bridge. I say mission accomplished.

Logan just turned 4 last week (photos will come soon) and it is hard to believe how fast he is growing up. he has quite a little sense of humour. He loves to dance around the house (especially while wearing some of chesneys tights, but that's a story for another time), play with his superheroes, eat vegimite sandwiches and piss off his sister. and boy does he know how to push her buttons. He loves going to preschool- which he does two full days a week- he has a best friend at school- Adam- and they are inseparable at school. Logan thinks it is really cool to have his own friends now. Who can guess what is stuck to Logan's face? He likes to stick stickers to his face whenever he gets hold of them- apparently when he couldn't find them he thought marshmallows would do the trick. he had about 10 more on there but had eaten them off by the time I found the camera.

For my birthday this year, Duey signed me up for scuba diving lessons, I am almost done with my training and then I will be a PADI certified open water diver- down to 60 ft. I have 2 more ocean dives left and I absolutely love it. I was in the water on monday and saw some amazing things in the water, including 4 sharks- they were dusky whaler sharks and are about 3 ft long. I think I actually heard the jaws music when I saw them. I have a night dive and a boat dive out in the open water coming up after I am certified. can't wait. Duey decided to take my gear for a test swim in the pool.

Logan has gone from being afraid to put his head in the water to actually swimming. all thanks to this awesome bald instructor, Cam. Logan loves him and he pushes logan just the right amount to move him forward. here he is floating, and if you can see Cams hands are off to the side not holding logan at all.

Logan is getting really comfortable kicking himself to the edge. Chesney decided to host a mixed up day party with some of her friends. here they are eating under the table all wearing their clothes backwards.

My birthday. the kids each decorated me a cake, Logans is the one with the 8 on it. he basically globbed a big pile of frosting on the top and dumped a bunch of m&m's on it. think Chesney was worried about getting sparkler on her?

I participated in the mothers day run out here for the 4th year. it was a fun event to do, except for the pouring rain through the entire race. I am now training for a couple of events coming up in September. one is a 9km run across the harbour bridge and the other is a triathlon. I am a little nervous about the 9km run, the most I am comfortable running is 5 km but I am doing a running clinic and getting help with my training.

In this picture I am the one in the dark pink shirt behind the lady in the white hat.

Well that pretty much sums up whats been going on out here. we are planning a trip out to the US the beginning of October. Hopefully we will get to see some of you then. Ta for now. Kelly and the gang

Mira lost a tooth!

With a loose tooth for a few weeks, we knew the day Mira wiggled it out was coming soon. Tonight, we were enjoying a dinner at Noodles when Mira announced her tooth had just come out! She was excited to have made it through an important rite of childhood. It's a little soon for us, since it means she's growing so fast!

Annabelle's getting big

Anna has been a very happy baby for the first 3 1/2 months of life. This past weekend we went up to Alexandria to Mandy's parents cabin to do some work and little relaxing.

The shed needed to be resided, turned out pretty good for 3 hack carpenter including 2 mechanics and one desk jockey.

Of course Anna needed all the shade she could get. Very fair skin in this one, pretty unusual for this family.

Anna was so excited to go up north that this is how I found her at 3am the morning before we left. It makes the early wake up alot easier when this is what you find.

She started rolling over this week and will soon be on cereal. She talks all the time and loves a good book to be read to her.

Shelby's prom

Bonnie asked me to post these photos of Shelby and her boyfriend, Matt, on their prom night.

Shelby is dating Matt Bateman who is also a senior at Rushford. He joined the Army last Spring and went to boot camp all last summer and then returned to school last fall to finish his last year before continuing his career.
