Happenings in Australia

We have been here for two weeks now and we finally move into our house tomorrow. We have been busy since arriving, The kids and I left for Tasmania two days after we arrived to visit friends for a week, we had a lovely time down there. it was a hot one though, the highest temp was 37C (about 97F) but it is so dry down there that it feels really nice. we spent time with our friends and on the beach and visiting our old favorite places (fish frenzy, michelle?) Duey joined us a week later and we left for Devonport on the north side of Tasmania (4 hour drive)to catch a ferry across the Bass straites to Melbourne (10 hour boat ride)Then we drove from Melbourne to Sydney (14 hours). The whole reason for this is we left our car down there with friends and this is the only way to get it back up to Sydney. The kids did great during the trip. the ferry was great, there were restaurants, shops, playroom, movie theatre, lots of areas to lounge about. the time went fast. the drive to sydney was a bit long, we got out often to let the kids have a play. Sydney is going to take a bit to get use to driving around. thank god for GPS in the car or I would be clueless as to where I am going. the city has 4 million people and there are very few freeways, to get to the airport from downtown you are taking side streets and going through neighborhoods the entire 20 km. needless to say for those of you coming I will be letting you know what train to take to get to me.

We move into the house tomorrow and are excited. we did a drive to the house yesterday and the owner happened to be there at the time so we had a look around. lovely house, has alot of character, and a nice yard for the kids.
our address will be:
14 The Kingsway
Roseville-Chase, NSW 2069
Australia

We have a meeting with the principle of the primary school in the area, so hopefully we will be able to get chesney her uniform and everything ready to go for her to start monday.
Miss you all and will keep you posted as to how things are going. Love to you.

Alex's Confirmation 3-16-08

I did it...I was able to find where these pix downloaded to and get them attached. I had to do it in a round about way...but here they are.
Alex Toney celebrated her Confirmation on Sunday, March 16. I was honored to be included in her special day. Alex is a beautiful girl....Diane and Tim (and her dad) have done a wonderful job raising her. I wish that lives weren't so busy so you could get the priviledge to meet her.

Alex, you are beautiful inside and out and you are one of God's special blessings to our family!!

Start! Heart Walk

Happy Monday Everyone!

Everyone knows someone affected by heart disease or stroke. For those I love, I will be walking in this year’s 5K (3.1 miles) Start! Heart Walk on Saturday April 26th. I have set a personal goal to raise $1,000 for the American Heart Association and need your help to reach my donation goal. We are raising critical dollars for heart disease and stroke research and education.

You can help me reach my goal by making a donation online. Click on the link below and you will be taken to my personal donation page where you can make a secure online credit card donation. The American Heart Association's online fundraising website has a minimum donation amount of $25.00. If you prefer to donate less, you can do so by sending a check directly to me.

Nicholas is 1...and Kelly is leaving--sob!!

Hi all,

I was blessed to be invited to Nicholas Norstad's 1st birthday party yesterday (Mar 1) at Jeffrey and Sara's home. Here are a couple pix of Nicholas and a couple of Kelly w/her sibs and with the whole family. (I seem to be having a problem with my camera as all pix have a blur on the right side...sorry!)
Kelly we will miss you so much...I know how Michelle must be hurting...when my sister (and best friend) moved away and took my (I mean her) two little girls with her....my heart broke. But they promise to be back, so until then we will keep them in our hearts and prayers!

I love you Kelly, Chesney, Logan and Dewey....and will miss you so much...
